Seawolf 2003 Exercise Ends

IZMIR - Seawolf 2003, one of concerted maneuvers of the Naval Forces Command, ended on Monday.
Officials of the Fleet Command told A.A correspondent that the exercise which was performed in Marmara, Aegean and East Mediterranean between June 5 and 16 under the command of Fleet Commander Admiral Ozden Ornek ended as the fourth phase was completed.
Ships and units bound to the Fleet Command left Izmir and Aksaz ports early on Monday and performed the fourth phase of the maneuver in the Mediterranean, Aegean and Marmara Sea.
President Ahmet Necdet Sezer, Chief of General Staff Hilmi Ozkok, and 35 observers from 20 countries had watched the exercise on June 13, the observers day.
A total of 14 frigates, 15 assault boats, 8 submarines, 14 outpost ship/GS boats, 3 mine sweepers, 12 assistant ships, 3 CAS CN-235 planes, 6 AB-212 helicopters, and 8 helicopters of the Turkish Naval Forces, and air forces planes and air radar participated in the exercise.
