KAYSERI - Afghan Ambassador in Ankara Abdul Ghafoor Poya Faryabi said on Friday, ''our people had never forgotten the support of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk to Afghanistan.''
Faryabi said during his visit to Kayseri Governor Nihat Canpolat that the friendship ties between turkey and Afghanistan further developed after the forming of Turkish Republic.
Noting that no country had become sound and close friends like Afghanistan and Turkey, Faryabi said, ''our people had never forgotten the support of Ataturk to Afghanistan. We know that Turkish people also do not forget Afghanistan which became the first country to recognize Turkish Republic when it was founded. You are helping us very much especially in education field. You are training our students.''
Canpolat said that they were pleased to host Afghan students in Kayseri.
Noting that he wished Afghan students, who would enter universities by learning Turkish language in TOMER, to be beneficial to their country and family, Canpolat said that they would not to disappoint students who would prefer Kayseri.
Faryabi, who later visited Kayseri Mayor Mehmet Ozhaseki, said that there were no difference between peoples of two countries and added that they felt they were in Afghanistan while in Turkey.
Ozhaseki said that they were following the events in Afghanistan closely and they wished that Afghan people would live a peaceful life by eliminating the problems as soon as possible.
