ANKARA - Health Minister Recep Akdag and his Palestinian counterpart Kamal Sharafi signed Turkey-Palestine Health Cooperation Protocol.
In accordance with the protocol signed on May 21, 2003 during the 56th Health Assembly of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva, the sides will cooperate in fields of basic health, treatment services, contagious diseases, mother and child health, health education and other medical fields.
Sides will exchange teams and health personnel, and information and documents to increase knowledge and consultancy.
Participation of concerned people to congresses, conferences and seminars held on health will be encouraged.
Turkey will train Palestinian health personnel between six months and a year. The number of personnel and issues of the training will be determined through diplomatic means. Palestine will meet all costs of the personnel.
Sides will support improvement of relations in field of medicine and pharmacy services and the establishment of commercial relations.
Within the scope of the protocol, joint working committee will be formed to plan activities and initiatives. The committee will convene once a year.
