MARMARIS - A total of 35 observers from 20 countries are watching the Seawolf-2003, a concerted exercise of the Naval Forces Command.
The third phase of the maneuver watched by President Ahmet Necdet Sezer and Chief of General Staff Hilmi Ozkok started as ships left Aksaz Naval Base Command at 8.00 a.m. on Friday.
A briefing was given to President Sezer, Chief of General Staff Ozkok, other commanders and foreign observers about the third phase of the exercise.
A total of 14 frigates, 15 assault boats, 8 submarines, 14 outpost ship/GS boats, 3 mine sweepers, 12 assistant ships, 3 CAS CN-235 planes, 6 AB-212 helicopters, and 8 helicopters of the Turkish Naval Forces, and air forces planes and air radar are participating in the exercise.
