ANKARA - The total foreign exchange deposit accounts at banks increased 251 million U.S. dollars to 63 billion 833 million U.S. dollars between May 23 and 30, 2003.
According to Central Bank's provisional statistics, total foreign exchange deposit accounts at banks was 63 billion 582 million U.S. dollars on May 23.
The foreign exchange deposits increased 179 million U.S. dollars to 47 billion 971 million U.S. dollars in the same period.
The total internal foreign exchange deposits increased 179 million U.S. dollars to 45 billion 828 million U.S. dollars while external foreign exchange deposits became 2 billion 144 million U.S. dollars in the same period.
Meanwhile, total foreign exchange deposits at the interbank market decreased 10 million U.S. dollars to 330 million U.S. dollars.
The foreign exchange deposits with letter of credit and super foreign exchange accounts decreased 40 million U.S. dollar to 15 billion 821 million U.S. dollars between May 30 and June 6, 2003.
