ANKARA - Justice Minister Cemil Cicek said on Thursday that if any changes would be made in the Sixth Adjustment Package, it would be under the authority of Parliament.
Cicek, who met with Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul in Foreign Ministry, said after the meeting that they discussed the Sixth Adjustment Package with Gul.
Cicek said, ''If changes will be made, it is under the authority of Parliament from now on. Government has showed its decision on that point.''
Cicek said that they discussed the studies regarding the coming period and they made a short evaluation about the revised National Program which would be announced to public opinion on Monday or Tuesday.
Noting that one of the most important agenda items of Turkey was the activities about the European Union (EU), Cicek said that it was necessary to complete the activities rapidly and in coordination as there was a short time left.
Cicek said that there was still a valid National Program and Turkey had many commitments, adding that some of them were fulfilled and he hoped that some of them would become laws in the coming week within the Sixth Package.
Noting that they had things to do in this scope, Cicek said that if things to be made were completed, preparing a new program would not be necessary.
