BAKU - Health Minister Recep Akdag, who is currently in Azerbaijani capital Baku, said that they wanted to form a ''health working group'' between health ministries of Turkish speaking countries.
Akdag had a meeting with Azerbaijani Health Minister Ali Insanov.
After his meeting with Insanov, Akdag delivered a speech in the interdelegationary meeting and said that they held very important talks with representatives of Turkish speaking countries during meetings of World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva in May.
Akdag said that cooperation in health field continued successfully between Turkey and Azerbaijan and stated that relations would be further improved from now on.
Upon a question, Akdag said that the government would do what was necessary to pave the way for private sector in medicine industry to also carry out activities in Azerbaijan, adding that they would decrease bureaucratic procedures on that issue.
Akdag said that Azerbaijan also welcomed cooperation in medicine industry.
Insanov said that there was a medicine factory with Turkish capital in Azerbaijan and stated that they wanted to further improve cooperation in that field.
Stating that they supported Akdag's proposal on ''health working group'' which would be formed between speaking Turkish countries, Insanov said that they saw an activity in health field in term of the new government.
Insanov said that Upper Karabakh issue affected negatively studies in health field and stated that Turkey extended many support to Azerbaijan for ten years.
He said that tuberculosis research which was made for the first time by Turkey in refugee camps in Azerbaijan was a very important study.
Stating that Turkey's aids in health field also covered education, Insanov said that Azerbaijan attributed great importance to it.
