ISTANBUL - Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday that they would adopt the sixth adjustment package rapidly.
Addressing members of the Turkish Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (TUSIAD), Prime Minister Erdogan said, ''today, our state has still been under burden of a serious amount of debt and pressure of high interest rates. It is necessary to decrease interest rates and turn our sources into production and investment in order to get rid of burden of debt. When we came to political power, interest rates were about 70 percent. Today, they decreased 50 percent. Also, inflation rate decreased.''
Referring to Turkey's European Union (EU) process, Prime Minister Erdogan said, ''we will adopt the sixth adjustment package rapidly. We annulled the Anti-Terrorism Law. Meanwhile, works have been continuing on broadcast in mother tongue.''
