TASHKENT - Turkish company Ay-Sel will subcontract U.S. embassy building in Tashkent.
Foundation of the embassy building was laid with a ceremony on Tuesday.
Ay-Sel company will subcontract the construction of building which will cost 56 million U.S. dollars.
U.S. Department of State Overseas Buildings Operations Director Charles Williams who delivered a speech at the ceremony said that U.S. J.A. Jones company will contract the building, Hellmuth Obata+Kassabaum company will design it and Ay-Sel would be subcontractor of the embassy building and noted that the project would be completed on January 1, 2006.
Ay-Sel Deputy Director General Oguz Ispir and Ay-Sel's Tashkent Office Director General Haluk Kisisel also attended the ceremony.
