ANKARA - Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc visited on Tuesday Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan at Parliament.
Releasing a statement after the meeting, Arinc recalled that he had paid an official visit to Japan with a parliamentary delegation between May 31 and June 7 and he said that they exchanged views regarding the visit.
Noting that Erdogan would also visit Japan in the end of year, Arinc said that elections would be held in Japan in October and Erdogan could pay his visit after the elections.
Recalling that 2003 was celebrated as Turkish Year in Japan, Arinc said that there was a big tourism potential in Japan, but Turkey could benefit only one percent of this potential. He added that Turkey should be promoted very well in Japan and cooperation, especially on rebuilding of Iraq, could be made between two countries.
