ANKARA - Agriculture and Rural Affairs Minister Sami Guclu will leave for the United States on June 19 to attend Ministerial Conference and Expo On Agricultural Science and Technology which will be held in Sacramento between June 23 and 25.
Guclu will go to the United States earlier because he will meet with U.S. Agriculture Secretary on June 20 in Sacramento. Guclu will hold bilateral meetings with the agriculture ministers of other countries during the conference to which agriculture ministers of nearly 220 countries will attend.
Guclu will also visit International Agriculture Technologies Fair. Development in agricultural technologies, usage of technology in agriculture, increasing productivity and solution to starvation will be discussed in the conference which will last three days.
Proceeding to Washington on June 26, Guclu will meet with officials of World Bank. Turkey's suggestion to include the project of restructuring of agriculture credit cooperatives in Agriculture Reform Implementation Project (ARIP), besides the current situation and problems in ARIP that is carried out with World Bank will be taken up in the meeting.
Guclu, who will visit agriculture technology park near Washington, will attend a meal held by Turkish-American Business Council.
Guclu will return to Turkey on June 28.
