Tunc: There Is Gold Reserve Of 208 Tons In Esme

ANKARA - Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday received Canadian businessmen who want to make investment in mining sector in Turkey.
The meeting at the Prime Ministry lasted nearly forty minutes and it was close to press.
Energy and Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Guler and Justice and Development Party (AK Party) deputies Egemen Bagis and Alim Tunc also attended the meeting.
Speaking to reporters following the meeting, Guler said that Canadian businessmen were representatives of companies which wanted to invest in mining sector, particularly gold in Turkey.
Noting that they had explained Turkey's opinions about foreign capital to businessmen, Guler said Prime Minister Erdogan had told Canadian businessmen that Turkey encouraged foreign capital and had removed all obstacles in front of it.
Meanwhile, AK Party deputy Tunc said that a company was carrying out gold prospecting etudes in Esme town of Aegean Usak province.
Noting that there was a gold reserve of 208 tons in Esme, and four hundred workers had to be employed to extract the gold, Tunc added that the company would start extraction after completion of environmental assessment report and other preparations.
