ANKARA - Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan called Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and talked to him on the phone on Monday.
Prime Ministry Press Centre said about the phone call that ''Prime Minister Erdogan told Italian Prime Minister Berlusconi, who is in Telaviv to support the Middle East Peace Process and the Road Map, that his visit to Telaviv would serve peace and stability in the region and that Turkey was ready to extend support in this process. Mr. Prime Minister also congratulated Italian soccer team Milan's winning the Champions League. The two prime ministers also exchanged views about Blue Stream Natural Gas Project which was undertaken by Italian finance and decided to fix the opening date of the project also by talking with Russian President Mr. Putin. Mr. Prime Minister, who also stated that the Sixth Adjustment Package would be sent to the parliament as soon as possible, stressed his belief that Turkey would progress fast on the way to EU also by the support of Italian Prime Minister Berlusconi, who will take over EU Term Presidency as of July 1.''
''Mr. Berlusconi said in his part that he shared the hope that his visit to Telaviv would contribute to peace and that he was grateful for Erdogan's congratulating the success of Milan. Mr. Berlusconi added that although he would be very busy as Italy would get the EU Term Presidency on July 1, he wanted to attend the opening ceremony of Blue Stream Project.''
