Prime Minister Erdogan Receives Bulgarian Ministers Of Public Works And Energy

ANKARA - Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Hilmi Guler said on Monday that ''we try to implement the requirements of the agreement which foresees construction of one highway and two dams in Bulgaria by Turkish contractors in return to purchase of energy from Bulgaria.''
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan received Bulgarian Public Works Minister Valentin Tserofski and Bulgarian Energy Minister Milko Kovachev the same day. Energy and Natural Resources Minister Guler was also present in the meeting.
Speaking to the press after the meeting, Guler said that negotiations between the technical delegations of the two countries to make operational the agreement on purchasing energy continued. Guler said that ''we want full implementation of the agreement. There was the provision in the agreement that foresaw Bulgaria to give the construction of two dams and one highway to Turkish contractors. As this was not done, we gave up purchasing energy...This agreement has to be implemented for the interests of our country. Mr. Prime Minister wants this issue to be sorted out as soon as possible. We work to sign the protocol tonight. We talk on the provisions, price and amount.''
