IZMIR - Six ships of the NATO Mine Countermeasures Force South (MCMFORSOUTH) will stay in western Izmir province till June 15 as a part of the 2003 concerted activities of the force.
MCMFORSOUTH commander Michael Mann held a press conference on Saturday that MCMFORSOUTH was an immediate reaction force.
Mann said that they continued efforts in NATO as an international force and he was commanding the force for two weeks.
The best mine sweepers of the countries forming MCMFORSOUTH were in mission, Mann noted.
The force is comprised of mine sweepers of Germany, Spain, Greece, Italy, and Turkey and commanded by Micheal Mann of Germany.
