Ready-to-wear Clothing And Textile Exports Increase

BURSA - Ready-to-wear exports from Bursa province rose by 32.9 percent while the textile exports increased by 21.5 percent between January and May 2003.
According to figures of Uludag Exporters Association (UIB), Bursa raised an income of 482 million 876 thousand U.S. dollars from textile and ready-to-wear exports in the first five years of this year.
Bursa had made 380 million 108 thousand U.S. dollars from its exports in the same period of the previous year.
Ready-to-wear exports from Bursa province which was 185 million 518 thousand U.S. dollars in the first five years of 2002 rose by 32.9 percent to 246 million 542 thousand U.S. dollars in the same period of this year.
Textile exports which was 194 million 590 thousand U.S. dollars in January-May 2002 period, increased by 21.4 percent to 236 million 334 thousand U.S. dollars in the same period this year.
Bursa province exported textile products to 9 free zones and 103 countries and autonomous regions and ready-to-wear products to 7 free zones and 77 countries and autonomous regions in the first five months of this year.
