Ankara Disappointed With Cyprus Package Of E.U. Commission

ANKARA - Ankara was disappointed with the economic package of the European Union (EU) Commission for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
Sources told the A.A correspondent on Thursday that the package envisaging financial aid and commercial facilities, did not meet expectations of Turkey and the TRNC.
The expression in the trade part of the package saying that appropriate officials could make all kinds of control while the TRNC Chamber of Commerce gave document of free movement for unagricultural goods produced in the Turkish Cypriot side, caused concerns in Ankara.
Sources said that Ankara was in favor of appointment of these appropriate officials from the United Nations or the EU.
Noting that Ankara did not plan to reject the package, sources added that negotiations would continue in the coming period over the package.
