LEFKOSA - Prime Minister Dervis Eroglu of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) said on Wednesday that the aid package which the EU Commission prepared for the TRNC ''ignored the TRNC at first glance''.
Upon questions of reporters prior to the TRNC Council of Ministers meeting, Eroglu made comments on the EU's aid decisions that were announced the day before.
''At a glance, the EU Commission's decisions seem to be an attitude which denies existence of the TRNC in parallel to the southern Cyprus's proposals and downgrades the Turkish Cypriots to the point of 'citizens of Cyprus republic' on basis of 'Cyprus republic' as it was said by Greek Cypriot administration leader Tassos Papadopoulos,'' Eroglu said.
Noting that the assessment on the EU's aid package would be made during the meeting of the TRNC Council of Ministers, Eroglu said that the assessment would be based on the documents of the TRNC Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Defense.
