Gul: No Country's Political System Concerns Us

ANKARA - Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul said on Monday that ''no country's political system concerns us.''
Issuing a written statement upon a question, Gul said that he didn't say the things claimed to be told by him in an interview with a newspaper under the title of ''Advices To Kings.''
Gul said that when the text of the interview made with him was read, it was easily seen that the expressions on the title didn't belong to him.
''I have deep sorrow over the presentation of the interview in a way that can cause an understanding which is against the state systems of certain friendly countries. No country's political system concerns us. Concepts such as political participation, democratization and human rights are universal values accepted by the international society and which are mentioned in international documents. In fact there are social-political reform initiatives in many Muslim countries although they have different state structures and systems,'' Gul said.
Gul reminded that he recently appreciated the reform efforts launched by those countries in question during his speech in OIC meeting in Tehran.
