Ankara To Host Important Guests In June

ANKARA - Ankara will host important guests in June of 2003.
Assembly of Turkish-American Associations (ATAA) Chairman Ercument Kilic and an accompanying delegation will hold contacts in Ankara between June 2 and 5.
Sources told the A.A correspondent on Saturday that Kilic and 25-member accompanying delegation would meet with President Ahmet Necdet Sezer, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Finance Minister Kemal Unakitan, State Minister Mehmet Aydin, National Security Council (NSC) Secretary General Tuncer Kilinc, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ugur Ziyal and other officials during their four-day visit to Turkey.
ATAA brings together 54 Turkish associations in different cities of the United States. ATAA has been expending efforts to strengthen friendly relations between Turkey and the United States and promotion of Turkish culture in the United States.
Meanwhile, the 11th round of exploratory talks between Turkish and Greek ministries of foreign affairs will be held in Ankara on June 2. The exploratory talks started on March 12, 2002.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Ugur Ziyal will head Turkish delegation, and Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs Secretary General Anastase Skopelitis will lead Greek delegation during the talks.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev of Moldova will pay an official visit to Turkey between June 4 and 5 as the guest of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Tarlev will hold contacts with officials of the Union of Turkish Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB) and the Foreign Economic Relations Council (DEIK). He is scheduled to come together with Turkish businessmen in Istanbul.
Tarlev's visit to Turkey will be the first official visit on the level of prime ministers between Turkey and Moldova.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Jean Claude Juncker of Luxembourg will pay a visit to Turkey between June 8 and 10.
Thomas Weston, the special coordinator of the U.S. State Department; Palestinian Foreign Minister Nabil Shaath; German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer; British Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Jack Straw and President Moshe Katzav of Israel are expected to come to Turkey.
Meanwhile, President Ahmet Necdet Sezer will hold contacts in Romania between June 3 and 4.
President Sezer will attend tripartite summit of Turkish, Romanian and Bulgarian Presidents.
Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul will pay a visit to Spanish capital Madrid between June 3 and 4 to attend the spring term meetings of NATO foreign ministers.
