Weston's Visit To Region

-FOREIGN MINISTRY: ''THE IMPORTANT THING FOR THE TWO SIDES IS TO REACH AN AGREEMENT ON A LIVABLE SOLUTION''

ANKARA - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Friday that the important thing for the two sides at the latest point reached on Cyprus was to reach a compromise on a livable solution.
Holding a press conference, Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Huseyin Dirioz replied a question about U.S. State Department Special Coordinator for Cyprus Thomas Weston's visit to the region.
When recalled of Weston's visit which aimed at resumption of talks on Cyprus under U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan's solution plan, Dirioz said, ''what is important at the current point about Cyprus is the two sides' reaching a compromise on a livable solution.''
The U.S. State Department earlier announced that Weston planned to visit Brussels, Rome, Athens, Lefkosa and Ankara between June 9-20.
It said that the aim of the United States was to see the two sides on Cyprus to resume talks under the U.N.'. good will mission and on basis of Annan's solution plan.
