Sahin: None Of Cabinet Members Has Request For Discussion Of Package At Nsc Before Sending It To Parliament

ANKARA - State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Ali Sahin said on Friday that none of the cabinet members had request for discussion of the latest EU adjustment package at the National Security Council (NSC) meeting before sending it to the parliament, adding, ''actually, there can not be such a request.''
Replying questions about the package, Sahin said, ''the EU became a supragovernment state policy. Our institutions attribute special importance to the NSC as the state displays that it is behind the EU target together with all of its institutions, and we appreciate it. However, none of the cabinet members has request for discussion of the latest EU adjustment package at the NSC meeting before sending it to the parliament. Actually, there can not be such a request.''
''Because, there is procedure for legalization of a bill. It will continue within this procedure,'' he added.
''The package has just come to the Council of Ministers. We will observe it. We make use of every kind of opinion. However, the state and the government of the Republic of Turkey have fulfilled their duties regarding accession to the EU, and they will continue to do so,'' he stressed.
