ANKARA - Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul will participate in NATO Foreign Ministers Spring Term Meetings that would take place in Madrid, Spain between June 3-4, 2003.
Foreign Ministry issued a statement and said the meeting would constitute an opportunity to overcome some difference of views which appeared within the alliance with respect to Iraq crisis, and to add a new momentum to transatlantic cooperation.
Installation of stability in Iraq, role which NATO could play in rebuilding of Iraq, and NATO's undertaking responsibility of ISAF-4 in Afghanistan are included in the agenda of the meeting.
Strategic partnership developed between NATO and the EU within the scope of cooperation in Iraq and in the Balkans, relations of NATO with Ukraine, development of cooperation between NATO and Russia, the progress recorded by Partnership for Peace and Mediterranean Dialogue since Prague Summit, and contributions expected from the countries which are expected to be NATO members next year will be evaluated at the meetings.
The statement said Gul would also meet with foreign ministers of several countries.
