ANTALYA - Antalya Governor Alaaddin Yuksel said on Friday that 200 planes landed at and took off from Antalya Airport in one day on average bringing 25,000 tourists.
Speaking to reporters, Yuksel said that the number of tourists which decreased due to the Iraqi war increased recently and that he believed that 5 million tourists (like the season in 2002) would come to Antalya. He said he expected 7.5 million tourists to come to Antalya in 2004 and ten million tourists in 2005. Yuksel said that Antalya deserved more tourists with the high number of its five-star hotels. Yuksel said that tourism should also be diversified, adding that ''we work to develop sports tourism in Kemer.''
