ANKARA - World Bank plans to give at least 4.5 billion U.S. dollars to Turkey for three years within the scope of Country Assistance Strategies (CAS).
The amount of CAS, which will come into effect as of this year, can also be more than 4.5 billion dollars.
The amount of CAS will become definite in July as technical negotiations are still continuing and it will come into effect after the approval by World Bank Executive Directors Board in September.
CAS will focus on economic and regional development, education and social assistance.
Meanwhile, Programmatic Financial and Public Sector Adjustment Loan (PFPSAL II) worth of 900 million dollars will be ready to use following the approval of World Bank Executive Directors Board in September. Also, Turkey will be given Economic Reform Loan (ERL) worth of 375 million dollars after fulfilling the commitments in nine months. The amount of ERL can be increased. There is no problem in Agriculture Reform Loan worth of 100 million dollars.
Meanwhile, World Bank's Representative in Turkey Ajay Chhibber's term in office is expected to end in July.
