Sahin: Probably N.S.C. Will Have A Special Agenda On E.U. In Its June Meeting

ANKARA - State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Ali Sahin said on Thursday that the National Security Council (NSC) would have a special agenda in June about EU, adding that ''it is very natural for NSC to discuss the EU process on a separate agenda. This shows that all the institutions of the state are supporting the EU process.''
Responding to questions of journalists in the parliament, Sahin said that the sixth EU adjustment loan which was prepared by the contributions of Secretariat General for EU and the Foreign Ministry was submitted to the Prime Ministry. Sahin said that the cabinet could take up the package in its next meeting, adding that ''we can't transfer the bill to the parliament without examining it in the Council of Ministers. I think it can be taken up in the next cabinet meeting.''
Upon questions, Sahin said that before the bill was transferred to the Prime Ministry, it was discussed in concerned state institutions. The bill would certainly be discussed in the cabinet, he said.
When asked if NSC would a special meeting on EU package, Sahin said that ''it is very natural for NSC to discuss the EU process on a separate agenda...In that respect it is very wrong to show as if there are certain hesitations about the EU in concerned institutions of the state.''
''Did you get full support from the NSC about the adjustment package?'' asked journalists to Sahin who said that ''NSC meetings are secret and no statement can be issued on them.''
Upon another question, Sahin said that ''NSC would probably have a special meeting in June.''
