ANKARA - The Republican People's Party (CHP) will apply to the Constitutional Court with the request for cancellation of the ''Law on Collection of Extra Taxes for Resettlement of Economic Stability'' on charges that first and second articles of this law contradict with the Constitution.
Holding a press conference in the parliament, CHP Parliamentary Group deputy chairmen Oguz Oyan and Mustafa Ozyurek defended that the law's articles on collection of extra motor vehicles tax and real estate tax were openly in contradiction with the Constitution's principle of ''the Republic of Turkey is a social state of law''.
They said that they would submit their petition to the Constitutional Court on Friday.
