ANKARA - Moldovan Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev will pay an official visit to Turkey between June 4 and 5 as the guest of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
A statement of the Prime Ministry Press Center said on Thursday that Tarlev's visit would be the first official visit to be paid at the level of prime ministers between the two countries so far.
The statement noted that bilateral relations between Turkey and Moldova would be taken up in the official meetings.
Improvement of political relations, acceleration of economic and commercial cooperation, ways to make use of the existing cooperation potential and steps to be taken in that direction would be debated during the contacts of Tarlev, the statement pointed out.
The statement emphasized that views would be exchanged on regional and international issues and noted that several agreements in the fields of customs, agriculture, judicial assistance and culture would be signed during Tarlev's visit.
Tarlev would hold contacts with the officials of the Union of Turkish Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB) and Foreign Economic Relations Board and Turkish businessmen in Ankara and Istanbul, the statement added.
