ANKARA - Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc will pay a visit to Japan between May 31 and June 7 as the official guest of Japanese Upper Chamber (or House of Representatives) Chairman Hiroyuki Kurata.
Prior to his departure for Tokyo on Saturday, May 31, Arinc will hold a press conference.
Arinc who will start his official contacts in Japan on Sunday, June 1 will attend dinner that Turkish Ambassador in Tokyo Solmaz Unaydin will host in honor of him after participating in a briefing to be given by Japanese Upper Chamber Foreign Relations Director General Hitoshi Honda and lunch.
On Monday, June 2, Arinc who will have a meeting with the Japanese Emperor's uncle Altes Prince Takahito Mikasa will later attend a reception for solidarity with Turkish community. Arinc will also meet with Japanese Upper Chamber Chairman Hiroyuki Kurata and Japanese Lower Chamber (or House of Councilors) Chairman Tamisuke Watanuki.
After visiting the Tokyo Mosque on Tuesday, June 3, Arinc will have a meeting with representatives of political parties in the Japanese Upper Chamber. Arinc who will be received by Emperor Akihito of Japan will attend meetings of Japanese-Turkish Parliamentary Friendship Groups in the Upper and Lower Chamber. Arinc will also participate in a reception that Turkish Ambassador Unaydin will host in honor of him and Turkish and Japanese delegations.
On Wednesday, June 4, Aric will proceed from Tokyo to Hiroshima after a meeting with Japanese columnists. Arinc will visit Peace Monument and Peace Museum in Hiroshima.
Arinc will proceed from Hisroshima to Kyoto on June 5 and hold several contacts. Arinc who will go to Osaka on June 6 will return to Turkey on June 7.
