LEFKOSA - Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Prime Minister Dervis Eroglu said on Tuesday that initiatives which the European Union (EU) Commission would launch for Turkish Cypriot people were intervention in elections which would be held in the TRNC in December.
Speaking on Bayrak TV channel, Eroglu said that EU would support municipalities and nongovernmental organizations that supported Annan's plan.
Stating that EU put forth an attitude for acceptance of Annan's plan, Eroglu said that EU would financially support Lefkosa, Girne and Gazimagusa municipalities which backed Annan's plan.
Eroglu said that they would discuss the issue after EU Commission made an official statement on the issue and noted that they would also hold consultations with Turkey.
He said that they had not taken a position yet, but they planned some issues.
Eroglu said that if he had been former Greek Cypriot leader Clerides when U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan presented his plan to the sides, he would have said that ''bring it, I will sign it'' and stated that it was not possible for Turkish side to sign the plan in that form.
Stating that Annan's plan included the possibility of whole Cyprus's getting under control of Greek Cypriots ten years later it was put into practice, Eroglu said that if the plan was observed carefully, it could be seen that it brought the result of ''Enosis.''
Eroglu said that Annan's plan did not foresee investment environment but prevented it in the TRNC.
He said that it was not possible to reach an agreement by ignoring the TRNC.
Eroglu added that initiatives of Greek Cypriots for Turkish Cypriots foresaw minority rights, which could not be accepted.
