ISTANBUL - Iranian Central Governor Dr. Ali Jaberian said on Monday that the citizens of Turkey and Iran could be given the right to travel without visa in order to further improve commercial relations.
Turkish and Iranian businessmen came together in Istanbul in a meeting held during the visit of Jaberian and an accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, Jaberian said that commercial relations between Turkey and Iran could be increased by ten-folds.
Iranian Consul General in Istanbul Bahman Hosseinpour said that Turkey and Iran were two big countries in the region and that the annual trade volume which was around 1.2 billion U.S. dollars should be at least 5 billion U.S. dollars.
Hosseinpour stated that there was not any obstacle before investments in Iran and said that he would want Turkish businessmen to make investments in Turkey.
Following the meeting, representatives of Turkish and Iranian companies held bilateral contacts.
