GAZIANTEP - Export of cereals, pulses and dried fruits from Southeastern Anatolia Project (GAP) region increased by 30 percent.
According to figures of Southeast Anatolian Exporters' Association, a total of 46 million 155 thousand U.S. dollars of export was made from the region to 81 countries in January-April period of 2003. Export worth of 35 million 573 thousand dollars was made from the region in the same period of last year.
A total of 25 million 823 thousand dollars was obtained from export of cereals and pulses and 20 million 332 thousand dollars was obtained from export of dried fruits and its products.
The share of export of cereals, pulses and dried fruits was 22 percent in total export in January-April period.
Export worth of six million 346 thousand dollars was made to the United States, two million 881 thousand dollars to Libya, two million 516 thousand dollars to Germany, two million 424 thousand dollars to France, one million 532 thousand dollars to Britain, one million 391 thousand dollars to Italy and one million 128 thousand dollars to Azerbaijan.
