Tuzmen: We Will Speed Up Sale Of Vehicles Waiting In Customs Gates

ANTALYA - State Minister Kursad Tuzmen said on Sunday that the government would speed up the sale of vehicles waiting in customs gates, as keeping them in vain was giving harm to economy.
Addressing the seminar on ''Employment, Investment and Unjust Competition Problems'' held by Turkish Textile Industry Employers' Trade Union the same day, Tuzmen said that they started studies to found a second customs gates with Iraq. Noting that the system of build-operate-transfer was started to be implemented in customs gates, Tuzmen said that the first example of that was Gurbulak Border Gate.
Tuzmen said that important problems were seen in Turkish customs, adding that ''we will employ well-educated personnel there as the beginning. The existing personnel in customs have to renew themselves and adapt to new standards.''
Tuzmen noted that the government expected to earn a revenue of 25 billion dollars from the sale of lands which lost their character of being forest.
