GAZIANTEP - Southeastern Anatolia Project (GAP) region exported goods worth of 209 million 818 thousand U.S. dollars in the first four months of 2003.
According to figures of Southeast Exporters Association, the export rate increased by 27 percent in the first four months of 2003 when compared with the same period of last year.
The region exported textile and raw materials worth of 152 million 781 thousand dollars, grain, cereals and its products worth of 25 million 823 thousand dollars, dried fruits and products worth of 20 million 332 thousand dollars, animal and water products worth of two million 809 thousand dollars and combined export worth of eight million and 73 thousand dollars in that period in 2003.
The region had obtained foreign exchange worth of 165 million 85 thousand dollars by exporting textile and raw materials worth of 119 million 776 thousand dollars; grain, cereals and its products worth of 20 million 379 thousand dollars; dried fruits and products worth of 15 million 194 thousand dollars, animal and water products worth of two million 535 thousand dollars and combined export worth of seven million and 201 thousand dollars in the same period of 2002.
The export amount of textile and raw materials increased by 28 percent, grain, cereals and its products increased by 27 percent, dried fruits and products increased by 34 percent, animal and water products increased by 11 percent and combined export increased by 12 percent in January-April period of 2003.
