ANKARA - Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul said on Friday that they were against amnesty law.
Relatives of martyrs visited Gul in Foreign Ministry building.
Stating that everyone should back relatives of martyrs, Gul said, ''martyrs sacrificed their lives for our tranquility.''
Gul said that Turkey fought against terrorism not only in the country but also in other countries.
Martyrs' Families Human Rights Federation Chairman Ugur Uzun said that they would convey their requests to Gul and stated that they were pleased to know that Gul was always beside them.
Stating that relatives of martyrs had suspicion about amnesty and they felt concerns when repentance law was brought onto the agenda, Uzun said that they were pleased with answer of Gul at the meeting.
Upon a question on repentance law, Gul said that it was early to comment on this issue and stated, ''we are against amnesty law.''
Stating that every country had different methods and strategies on fight against terrorism, Gul said that the issue would become definite under the light given by all relevant units of the state.
