SADDENING EVIDENCE
It was unveiled that the Greek pilot, who caused a Turkish F-16 war plane to crash into the Aegean Sea seven years ago, drew a Turkish flag on his Mirage 2000 plane to mark the incident. This tradition of drawing a sign on planes started during the World War II. During the war, there were signs of swastika on U.S. war planes and American star on German war planes. This tradition continued during the Vietnam and Gulf wars.

''BROADCASTING IN KURDISH SHOULD BE LIMITED WITH TRT''
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and General Staff Chief General Hilmi Ozkok held a meeting on Tuesday. During the meeting, General Ozkok expressed their uneasiness about broadcasting in Kurdish. He said that broadcasting in Kurdish should be limited with Turkish Radio and Television Corp (TRT). Prime Minister Erdogan responded General Ozkok saying, ''I consider your concerns right. We will make an arrangement to take these broadcastings under control.''

PKK INFILTRATES FROM NORTHERN IRAQ
Two soldiers were killed in a clash, which erupted between security forces and a group of terrorists in rural area near Mazgirt town of eastern province of Tunceli. Members of terrorist organization PKK/KADEK, who have infiltrated from northern Iraq, opened fire on security forces near Atacinar village. Private Emin Urhan and Private Serkan Sagir were killed in the clash. Reinforcement units have been sent to the area.

LIKE A HORROR MOVIE
There are horrifying expressions in the 250-page indictment of ''Lancet Case'': ''Members of the Social Security Agency (SSK) were used as subjects of medical experiments to try new medical equipment, which should have been tried on only 200 people in the world. Some of these patients lost their lives.'' Ankara State Security Court (DGM) filed a lawsuit after a long investigation. The indictment of the Prosecutor's Office is full of horrifying expressions. According to the indictment, Cardiologist Prof. Dr. Barbaros Dokumaci from Eskisehir SSK Hospital used members of SSK as subjects of his experiments together with Israeli citizen Johanna Bondy. Medical equipment, which were put on the market recently and should have been tried only in special health centers, were tried on 40 patients of SSK. Six of them died.

CENTRAL BANK INTERVENES IN FOREX MARKET
The Central Bank intervened in the foreign exchange market by buying foreign currency. The Central bank recalled that it had intervened in the foreign exchange market by buying foreign currency on May 12. ''However, still the volatility in the exchange rate has been closely observed, and the Central Bank directly intervened in the market by buying foreign currency today,'' it said.

'ARMENIAN GENOCIDE' SHOCK TO ANKARA
'Armenian Genocide Draft' was accepted in U.S. House of Representatives Justice Committee, although U.S. president George W. Bush did not mention about it. Acceptation of the draft, which was brought onto agenda by the efforts of Armenian lobby after April 24, shocked Ankara.

KILINC MEANING FROM ARINC TO EU
Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc met with ambassadors of European Union (EU) member and candidate countries in a luncheon yesterday. Arinc stated that General Staff Headquarters gave full support of government's EU issue and added that the statements of National Security Council (NSC) Secretary General Tuncer Kilinc were his personal views. Ambassadors insistently wanted answers to two questions: ''What is the meaning of statements of Kilinc'' and ''What is the result of meeting of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Chief of General Staff Hilmi Ozkok? Is soldier against EU membership?'' Arinc said that the statements of Kilinc were his personal views and it would be wrong to say that army was against EU membership by only taking statements of Kilinc into consideration.

''SPOKESMEN SHOULD NOT TARGET TSK''
During his meeting with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, General Staff Chief General Hilmi Ozkok expressed his uneasiness about statements of some spokesmen of the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) targeting the Turkish Armed Forces.

CICEK MEETS WITH PEARSON
Justice Minister Cemil Cicek met with U.S. Ambassador to Turkey Robert Pearson. Cicek said that the Repentance Law was not brought onto agenda during the meeting. Cicek said, ''there are some cases about children of Turkish citizens who are married with U.S. citizens. These children can experience problems from time to time to meet with their parents. Mr. Pearson came to my office to discuss a judicial matter.'' He added that they would submit the sixth adjustment package with the EU to the Prime Ministry Office on Thursday.

GREEK CYPRIOTS ARE NEW GUESTS
Turkey opens its doors to those who is carrying Cyprus Republic passport as of today. All preparations are completed against a possible problem while hosting Greek Cypriots. Those, who have 'Cyprus Republic' passport that has not been recognized officially, can come to Turkey and stay for one month as of today.

GREEN LIGHT TO EU FROM SOLDIER
The meeting of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Chief of General Staff Hilmi Ozkok caused the interpretations of ''normalization in relations'' in the government. Ozkok's conveying his uneasiness about the impression that 'soldiers are against the European Union (EU)' and stating that they were positive about EU reforms are the proofs of 'normalization'.

MESSAGE FROM EU
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan received European Parliament (EP) Liberal and Democrats Group Secretary General Alexander Beels and Group Chairman Graham Weston. During the meeting, Weston said that if Turkey fulfilled political criteria, the EU could open accession talks before 2004.

LEFTIST ORGANIZATIONS PLAN NEW ATTACKS
It was revealed that extreme leftist organizations were planning new attacks. Tuesday's suicide attack in a cafe in Kizilay Square of Ankara was a sign of their target. Meanwhile, it was reported that these organizations had taken action to gather more supporters.

PRESIDENT NAZARBAYEV CALLS ON TURKISH BUSINESSMEN TO INVEST
President Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan, who is currently in Turkey on an official visit, eulogized Turkish businessmen's investments in Kazakhstan. He stressed that 31 Turkish schools in his country achieved great success. President Nazarbayev called on businessmen to make mutual investments.

FRIENDS OF TURKEY LAUNCH A CAMPAIGN AGAINST WOLFOWITZ
U.S. Representatives Assembly Democrat Party Massachusetts Parliamentarian Barney Frank, who called on U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz to resign due to his statements about Turkey, said that he launched a campaign against Wolfowitz at the U.S. Congress.
