Wolfowitz Visits Turkish Troops In Bosnia - Herzegovina

WASHINGTON D.C. - U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz visited Turkish troops in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Sources told the A.A correspondent on Tuesday that Wolfowitz, during his tour to Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, France and Romania, visited Turkish troops on May 16 and addressed them.
During his speech, Wolfowitz eulogized Turkish troops' activities in Bosnia-Herzegovina under the peace-keeping force.
Diplomatic sources in Washington D.C. described Wolfowitz's visit as a ''positive gesture''.
Earlier, statements of Wolfowitz caused harsh reactions in Turkey.
Some newspapers claimed that Wolfowitz said that Turkey should apologize.
Upon these claims, U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense Douglas Feith said that neither the United States nor Wolfowitz requested Turkey to apologize.
In his statements, Wolfowitz claimed that Turkey had made a mistake by not approving the motion on deployment of U.S. soldiers in Turkey.
