IZMIR - Izmir Governor Yusuf Ziya Goksu said on Tuesday that the good relations between Turkey and Italy at the prime ministers level should also be reflected to the trade.
Goksu who met with the new Italian Consul General to Izmir Michale Tommasi the same day, said that the statements of Italian Prime Minister Berlusconi about the EU membership of Turkey boosted the morale of Turkey.
Goksu said that the former Italian Consul General in Izmir was appointed to Ankara, adding that the new consul would come together with representatives of export, import, and finance sector. ''The commercial relations between the two countries have to be increased,'' said Goksu.
Italian Consul General Tommasi said in his part that he was happy to work in Turkey in a period in which Turkish-Italian relations were at perfect level.
