MUGLA - Greek authorities released two Turkish fishermen who were detained by Greek Coast Guard after their boat was adrift to Greek territorial waters following a failure in the engine.
Sources said on Tuesday that 48-year-old Enver Ucar and 40-year-old Ahmet Yilmaz, the two Turkish fishermen, had departed from Didim town of Aydin province in the Aegean region three days ago but their boat ''Korsan'' started drifting towards Farmakos island within Greek territorial waters due to a failure in the engine while they were off Tekagac Lighthouse in Didim.
The Greek Coast Guard boats stopped Korsan, detained the fishermen and seized their boat.
After their trial, Greek court decided to release Turkish fishermen who were brought to Turkey with Turkish boat ''Hizir Reis''.
