ANKARA - Details of the arrangement, announced by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, enabling Greek Cypriot citizens to enter Turkey without visa, are clarified.
Foreign Ministry said Greek Cypriots citizens, who have passports of Greek Cypriot side, were envisaged to be given one-month entrance visa.
The new arrangements cover only touristic visits.
Current regime will continue similarly in visits apart from those which aim at tourism.
In case Greek Cypriots enter Turkey with their private cars, necessary documents will be called for vehicle entrance.
Thus, facilities will be given for the first time to Greek Cypriot citizens to enter Turkey after 40 years.
In case Greek Cypriot citizens do not make applications, and come to the border gates of Turkey without visa, may enter for touristic aims and stay for one month, but implementation free of charge will not be valid this time. Greek Cypriot citizens should buy label for 10 Euro in border gate.
Greek Cypriot citizens, who reside in south of Cyprus, will be able to take their visas from Athens-Piraeus Chief Consulate free of charge. Greek Cypriots living outside the island will be given visa from the Turkish representations in this country.
Private yachts belonging to Greek Cypriot citizens, will be able to visit Turkish ports together with its crew members and passengers, on condition that they depart from TRNC ports. The yachts should not have commercial aims.
