BAGHDAD - Turkish Ambassador to Iraq Osman Paksut said on Wednesday that the relations between Turkish and Iraqi people were based on the history, adding that Turkey would help the neighbour Iraqi people in all fields.
Upon a question in his interview with Ezzaman newspaper published in London, United Arab Emirates and Baghdad; Paksut said that Turkmens who constitute the majority in Kirkuk came together within the structure of Iraqi Turkmen Front.
Noting that the security and stability in Kirkuk was monitored by Turkey, Paksut said that there was no clash between Kurds and Turkmens in Kirkuk.
Paksut pointed out that Iraq's reaching freedom created a new atmosphere in the region, calling all Iraqis to make cooperation to carry the responsibility of the new period.
