U.S. Is Seeking Responsible Because Of Her Disappointment

AH- Richard Perle, the member of the Defense Policy Board, joined the permit discussion, which U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz restarted. Perle said that, the Turco-U.S. relationship was wounded because of the Iraq war and that the manners of some traditional parties, the politicians, whom they knew for years, and the retired ambassadors, who were on duty in U.S., caused disappointment in that process.
Henri J. Barkey, a former member of the U.S. Defense Department, claimed that the limited support of the Turkish Army to the government about Iraq was a step to exhaust the Justice and Development Party (AKP) government.
U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell and the department spokesmen tried to reduce the increased tension on the Turco-U.S. relationships in their statements.
Powell stressed that; he believed that the Turco-U.S. relationship would continue by increasing despite the disappointment. U.S. State Department Spokesman Richard Boucher said that, U.S. gave importance to the relationship with Turkey and desired to work with Turkey in the reconstructing of Iraq.
