ANKARA - Former President Suleyman Demirel met with Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Askar Aitmatov who is currently in Turkey on Tuesday.
Aitmatov said he brought the greetings of Kyrgyz President Askar Akayev to Demirel inviting Demirel to his country. Thanking Demirel for his contributions to the formation of good relations between Turkey and Kyrgyzstan and among all Central Asian countries, Aitmatov said that they planned to organize various activities in his country upon the 80th foundation anniversary of the Turkish Republic.
Demirel thanked for the invitation, adding that many good things happened in Kyrgyzstan after it gained its independence.
