ANKARA - Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul said on Tuesday that statements of U.S. Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz were sincere and that they revealed perspectives toward future.
When asked how he evaluated statements of Wolfowitz, Gul said media focused only on one side of the speech, and that whole speech should be listened to make an evaluation.
Gul said, ''I read the whole speech. They are sincere statements revealing perspectives toward future.''
Gul said Wolfowitz gave positive messages toward improvement of Turkish-U.S. relations, stating that he stressed Turkey's importance.
Wolfowitz, in a statement he made to CNN-Turk television, criticized that Turkey covered a wrong attitude in Iraq policy.
