BINGOL - Bingol Governor Huseyin Avni Cos announced on Monday the death toll as 176 following the earthquake in southeastern Bingol province.
Cos said that all schools, except eighth and 11th grades, in Bingol and related central town were closed.
Holding a press conference, Cos said that some injured people who had been hospitalized died and according to last figures, death toll reached 176.
Cos said that the number of buildings which were completely collapsed in Bingol was 309, which were damaged and uninhabitable was 2,557, and which had suffered moderate damage but still habitable was 2,539. He added that a total of 199 buildings in villages was uninhabitable.
Noting that a total of 7,055 tents were distributed, Cos said that 2,675 tents which would come on Monday would be rapidly distributed.
Cos said that all schools, except eighth and 11th grades, in Bingol and related central town were closed. He added that commissions which would be formed under the chairmanship of Head officials would decide whether schools in towns would be closed or not.
