BINGOL - A total of 122 aftershocks were recorded following earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.4 on the Richter scale that shook southeastern Bingol province.
Bogazici University Kandili Observatory and Seismology Institute said 122 aftershocks occurred in the region following the main quake which jolted Bingol on May 1 at 03.27 local time. Magnitudes of the aftershocks changes between 2.9 and 4.5 on the Richter scale.
Citizens could not enter their houses as aftershocks continued throughout the night.
Efforts continue to shift the rubble.
