BAGHDAD - Red Crescent team which came to Baghdad on Tuesday evening distributed five trucks of aid materials on Wednesday.
Red Crescent gave two trucks of medical equipment and medicine to Ibn-Nefis Cardiology Hospital and Al-Vasati Orthopedics and Plastic Surgery Hospital, and tree trucks of food and water to Iraqi Red Crescent.
Justice and Development Party (AK Party) deputy Turhan Comez and Republican People's Party (CHP) deputy Huseyin Guler visited patients in those hospitals and said that aid to Iraq would continue.
Stating that they would do what was necessary to increase aid for Iraq because they saw that there were some shortcomings in hospitals in Iraq, the number of medicine was not sufficient, and there were too many patients, Comez and Guler said that injured people in Baghdad were in bad condition. Two deputies added that they would convey those information to Ankara.
Red Crescent Director General Fatih Evren said that aid to Iraq would continue and stated that this was only beginning.
Evren said that the government had a budget which was allocated for Iraq and added, ''we will not content with this and we will launch a campaign for Iraq in Turkey. We will bring more aid to Iraqi people as soon as possible.''
