ANKARA - Motherland Party (ANAP) Ankara office laid black wreath in front of French Embassy in Ankara to protest the statue that was opened in Paris to commemorate the so-called Armenian genocide.
A group of ANAP deputies who came to French Embassy laid the wreath and ANAP Ankara office chairman Sedat Yýlmazer said on behalf of the group that the statue built in Paris was a monument of shame. Criticizing the government for not showing reaction to the opening of the statue, Yýlmazer said that ''the government which watched silently the opening of the statue in Canada Square in Paris, stayed non-reactive. ANAP, which served the country for 20 years, condemns this anti-Turkey attitude of France which does not reflect the realities and which supports the views of Armenians.''
