I.M.F. Expected To Come To Turkey On May 21 For Fifth Review

ANKARA - International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation is expected to come to Turkey on May 21 for the fifth review.
The IMF delegation can stay in Turkey till the end of May or the beginning of June.
Following the approval of the fifth review, which is expected to take place in June, IMF will also release 500 million dollars of tranche for Turkey.
Within the scope of the existing Stand By regulation which will be completed at the end of 2004, IMF will carry out totally seven reviews.
Meanwhile IMF First Deputy Managing Director Anne Krueger is expected to come to Turkey on May 7 to participate in the meeting that will be held by Forum Istanbul between 8-10 May. Krueger will also meet with government officials in Ankara.
IMF delegation will also carry out a consultation review within the scope of Article 4 of IMF Agreement during the meeting. The consultation reviews are expected to be held every year. IMF experts visit member states every year and get information about the economic and financial developments under Article 4 of the IMF Agreement. IMF delegation will prepare a report which will be taken up at the IMF Executive Directors after finishing the consultation.
