Mumcu Appointed As Culture And Tourism Minister And Aksit Appointed As Minister Of State

ANKARA - Erkan Mumcu was appointed as Culture and Tourism Minister and Guldal Aksit was appointed as Minister of State following unification of Culture and Tourism ministries.
President Ahmet Necdet Sezer approved the decree pertaining to appointment of Mumcu as Minister of Culture and Tourism and Aksit as Minister of State.
Under the law regarded with unification, Ministry of Culture and Tourism will be comprised of nine central units and units abroad.
Units of Culture Ministry in Ashkabad, Almaty, Bishkek, Baku, Dushanbe, Cairo, Copenhagen, New York, Sarajevo, Tashkent, Tunisia, and Scope will continue activities. Other units abroad will be closed within three months.

Below is the curriculum vitae of Erkan Mumcu, appointed as the Culture Minister: Erkan Mumcu was born in Yalvac township of southern Isparta province in 1963.
Mumcu who graduated from Istanbul University Law Faculty served as Isparta deputy from Motherland Party (ANAP) in 20th and 21st terms of the parliament.
Mumcu who served as Tourism Minister in the 57th government also worked as the deputy leader of ANAP. Later, he participated in the AK Party and became deputy from Isparta in the November 3 elections.
Erkan Mumcu speaks English. He is married and has two children.
Mumcu was National Education Minister in the 58th government.

Below is the curriculum vitae of Guldal Aksit, appointed as the Tourism Minister:
Guldal Aksit was born in eastern Malatya province in 1960.
Aksit who graduated from Istanbul University Law Faculty worked as lawyer in Istanbul Bar.
She also worked in private sector.
Aksit is married and speaks English.
Aksit was Tourism Minister in the 58th government.
